I’m super-excited — I just signed up for my first art class since elementary school.
The Button Factory, an art hub here in town, is offering a class this spring on Bauhaus history and drawing — two hours a week for six weeks — and I signed up for it. The description says it will teach some history of the Bauhaus movement, along with teaching some techniques in the Bauhaus style (hoping for a Josef Albers Interactions of Color class), and some exercises in group and individual settings. Since I’ve recently been reading about Bauhaus art, and looking at quilts in modern and mid-century modern styles, this class seemed like a good fit, and a chance to get my feet wet in art classes. If it goes well, maybe I will take some more classes in future.
