Along with rust-dyeing and ice-dyeing, we also did some regular hand-dyeing this past weekend.
Here’s the results of our efforts, including the rust-dyed fabric at the top. Most of the fabrics began as white or off-white fabrics, but Renske had a couple of black and white fabrics that we also dyed (the striped one looks sharp as a green and black stripe!) Quite a nice variety, don’t you think?
Hand-dyeing is time-consuming, messy work. There’s prep to do before you start, mess while you’re doing it, and more mess and time to rinse, rinse & rinse after the dye has finished. Fun once in a while – but I don’t think I would want to do it on a regular basis.
Ooh! I don’t (currently) do any kind of textile crafting, but I’m still drooling over the box of pretty colours 🙂

Yes, that’s what makes fabric so easy to collect! Sometimes it seems so pretty, I don’t want to cut it up!
